Read MoreOne car pulled into the parking lot with three women, one of which went into the abortion facility. The other two women remained in the car. A Sidewalk Advocate approached the car and offered donuts and water. One of the women got out of the car and walked over to Seneca where she met two of our Seneca team members. As they struck up a conversation, it became very apparent that she was extremely distraught about her cousin’s decision to have an abortion. She stated, “She is killing her baby.” We agreed and found common ground!
Read MoreIn today’s culture, it can be difficult to relate to someone. Especially if their views/beliefs are different from ours. There was a great example of this during yesterday afternoon’s abortion day. It was near the end of the day and two women arrived together at the abortion facility. They pulled into our parking lot and I began to strike up a conversation with them as they were walking up to the facility. I was very aware that they related more to “pop” culture rather than a conservative worldview. I was careful of how I approached the topic due to wanting to do my best in conveying a message they would relate to. I was truly unsure how they were going to respond. However, to my surprise, they were very intent on what I had to share with them.

The mom sat in the car for several hours, until one of the abortion workers came out and asked her to move her car so another patient could park. I motioned to her that she could park in our parking lot. I saw this as an opportunity to be able to connect with her. She took me up on my offer and parked here at Seneca.
