First Fruits Friday - The Donut

Sometimes the best way to reach the abortion-determined mother entering the abortion facility is through the people to whom she is closest.

This past weekend, as women were arriving for their abortion appointments, they seemed harder to reach than the typical abortion day. The abortion workers walked into the parking lot to escort their clients, preventing us from speaking to them. This, in addition to the stormy weather, made it very disheartening for our Seneca team.

One car pulled into the parking lot with three women, one of which went into the abortion facility. The other two women remained in the car. A Sidewalk Advocate approached the car and offered donuts and water. One of the women got out of the car and walked over to Seneca where she met two of our Seneca team members.  As they struck up a conversation, it became very apparent that she was extremely distraught about her cousin’s decision to have an abortion. She stated, “She is killing her baby.” We agreed and found common ground!

Our team spoke at length with this woman about how Seneca is here to help and support mothers in need. We also discussed the Abortion Pill, and the Abortion Pill Reversal. She was encouraged to call her cousin before the abortion workers took her phone away in order to get her cousin to come out and talk to us. The woman went back to her car where she and the other passenger looked over the materials we provided. It was clear that after learning more about the brutality of the abortion pill process, they were determined to get her out. Praise God!!

Discouragingly, call after call went to voicemail. They went to the door of the abortion facility, which was locked, and they knocked. A worker came to the door and told them, “She is already in the back.” In desperation, her cousin pleaded with the worker to have her come out, the worker responded, almost surely without even checking with the woman: “She does not want to come out,” and shut the door. The family members were very upset, and continued to wait in their car for 4 hours.

During that time the family member who had not spoken to our Seneca team asked to come inside to use the restroom. Before she left Seneca, our team took this Godly-inspired opportunity to speak to her about the Abortion Pill Reversal.

After another hour passed, their cousin finally came out to the car. They sat in the car talking for 45 minutes, then pulled into the Seneca parking lot and came in stating she wanted to get the Abortion Pill Reversal. She called the APR Hotline and began the process to save her unborn baby's life!

The power of prayer, patience, and speaking truth in love, which all started with the simple act of offering a donut, held the potential to save a life!  We beseech you to come out and pray with us! Some in the abortion industry credit on-site prayer as leading to a 75% no-show rate of moms who have made appointments with them. Would you like to be part of saving lives with us on our team? We are in need of more prayer partners. Your prayers on-site will have eternal reward!

Please email Karen to get involved today!  40 Days for Life starts September 27 and runs through November 5. We want to see an end to abortion in our community and we need all Pro-Life Christians to come join us!!
