First Fruits Friday - The Weak Confounds the Strong
“The Weak Confounds the Strong” 1 Corinthians 1:27
Holding these babies that were rescued from the abortion, you can see this precious innocent and fragile baby and know that God has put His Mighty Hand on this child and willed him/her to live! Against all odds, God’s will continue provision and protection to carry out His great will in their lives. We had two mothers from the same ethnicity both come to the abortion facility and turn to the hope and help offered from the Sidewalk Advocates in order to truly understand all their choices.
One mother had everything going for her: A stable home, a good job and a nice car. The other mother had nothing and recently became homeless. Both had a positive pregnancy test and ultrasound, yet the mom who had everything going for her and seeing her precious baby continued to seek an abortion. The brave mom who had nothing, accepted her baby’s life in faith, and nurtured it without the guarantee of her next meal. She chose LIFE. What appeared to be impossible circumstances of the weak confounded the strong.
God is the source of all life and provision. Did not God send Jesus to this world as a fragile infant who also had a death sentence placed upon Him at birth by Herod? Jesus’ family was homeless and exiled to Egypt. Yet, this baby grew up and first turned the world upside down with His example and teaching, then saved this entire world by His sacrificial death.
We see in families now in Case Management where each child is an integral part of each family we serve. This bond was built in them at a young age, we might even say it was built in the womb of their mother when she chose life, against all the odds! This strength of character is vital to their future occupation and even service to the greater good, our nation. They will carry this on into a godly family heritage from generation to generation. All this from a mustard seed of faith. This young mom who dares to go against the world’s march of death - to trust the One True God - with the impossible. Please pray for this mom and all the mothers in the world who choose life and allow their weakness to confound the strong!
