First Fruits Friday - Community

We are all made to be a part of a community. Strong people with God-given identities, unique gifts, and talents are a part of vital families and those families make up communities. To realize the richness of that, being in a community connecting to so many diversely gifted people, the potential is staggering and limited only by our unawareness.

“bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so must you do also.” Colossians 3:13

Community is caring and acceptance on a wide scale, diversity realized and help and protection multiplied!! Our “Made Whole” dinners are Seneca mom's community. There is always belonging and openness, creating a loving environment to make learning and connecting to each other possible. Our dinners consist of a leader from our community who volunteers their time and talent to contribute and minister to the women. We have had pastors, medical specialists, and business owners, and added to this mixture is also much sharing of God's eternal word, prayers of our faithful partners, and of our faith through which we experience growth. We have these dinners each month, and we see the growth! A woman planning a new path for her career; a woman inviting another to church; another making a friend when friendships failed her and even children hugging each other and promising to see each other again. These are special times for Seneca’s moms and would never be possible without help from our sponsors and from our community. We know it cannot just be a handout, but crucially, it must involve a community coming together to give a hand up.
