First Fruits Friday - Father of the Baby
We all know a life lived for each other is the richest life of all. Our Lord taught us that.
I John 3:16 We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us – and we ought to lay down our lives for one another.
God built this in us as we need each other – we are our best selves when we work together and develop strong relationships which build us up to achieve more than what we can do ourselves.
Relationships are so important and have a greater purpose than we could ever imagine. One is the sacred and unique marital relationship given by God to be a reflection of Jesus and the church!
Ephesians 5: 23 For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, His body, and is Himself its Savior.
God has given a man and woman that special direction and discernment to find a mate for life and such a bond that many would describe this union as so strong “that I would die for you.” Interesting isn’t it? Christ died for the church. The bond between a woman and man has to be strong, as it supports children, preserves the family, strengthens us to persevere in hard times, and even speaks of godly and eternal truths!! God knows what we need to survive in a broken world.
We don’t talk much about the father of the baby because that special relationship is so fractured for many that they never engage in the battle for life or, for many reasons, are a negative influence. The breakdown of the family takes a toll on manhood and even negates it altogether. The influence of a father is immense, and when absent, sorely missed. Children know their story is not complete until they know who their dad is. The family is under such strain financially that most have no mom either as she is taking several jobs to provide a livable income.
We met the courageous father of the mom who boldly stated. “We will never abort. We don’t do that in our family.” He stood for life even when it wasn’t his direct responsibility and would cost him.
Please pray for our fathers! They will want to live for their children as God designed!
