First Fruits Friday - A Hurricane of Grief

Sometimes it seems that the women who choose abortion do not consider the mental and emotional toll the abortion will take on their sub-conscience. Most of the women are still very young; they “don’t know what they don’t know”. Our culture says that these “life and death” decisions are our’s to decide.

We live in a culture where we seldom take time to process trauma or the inevitable and difficult disruptions and changes in our lives - mentally and emotionally. We don’t understand the importance of obtaining the skills of “mental and emotional intelligence.”  All of us need some time to slow down and reflect.

When we take a deep reflection, we can find peace in God’s word. In the book of Proverbs we see God’s Word tells us of the great need in Proverbs 4:23 "Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life".

In our secular culture many people can’t resolve issues on our own and we don’t allow ourselves time to grieve a loss and to find healing.  Grief might just be one of the hardest emotions to heal from, especially when ignored. It will never just heal with time. It is like an unrelenting hurricane with fierce winds of guilt and regret. Because of the community at Seneca, including ministry partners  and faithful volunteers, we have trained counselors who bring to fruition the amazing retreat called Rachel’s Vineyard to bring healing to the wounds of pregnancy loss and abortion. This team of post-abortion recovery experts have been guiding men and women who are navigating this area of grief from the loss of a baby at any stage of pregnancy for any reason.  To come to terms with these gale force winds and deep wounds of abortion, offering the opportunity and healing of Christ alone.

Just a few weeks ago Seneca was able to sponsor another Rachel’s Vineyard healing retreat to bring peace to some suffering families in need.  Please pray with us for their complete healing as they enter into this next phase of their journey.  If you or anyone you know would like to experience deeper healing, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our healing coordinator Deborah by emailing Hismercy4you@hotmail.com  There is no storm, weather system or even hurricane of grief that our God cannot heal. Know of His love for you and all of us as we humble ourselves to repent and accept his forgiveness.
