First Fruits Friday - Blossom
At Seneca, Our Case Management Program focuses on all aspects of our clients’ lives: Physical, Emotional, Economic, Relational, and Spiritual. The goals of the program is for our clients to be safe, healthy, and self sustaining. This looks different for every client, and we work on many goals simultaneously.
One area that is a need for many clients is education and job training. Once they are able to begin working towards a fulfilling and financially stable career, so much begins to fall into place.
Much of our Seneca resources go to helping Clients on this path. Still, we cannot do it alone. That’s where our collaborative efforts come in.
Together with other organizations, our clients can blossom even more.
It is fitting as spring buds begin to blossom that we share some exciting news from our clients. Three of our clients have received scholarships that will assist them in receiving professional certifications to expand their job horizons. Two received the Voices for a Healthy Georgia scholarship that includes a stipend. These moms will attend a 24 week health focused leadership development program. These moms will study health policy, assist in organizing grass roots strategies to help underserved communities and diversify healthy options for those in our community. Learning and growing - that is what empowerment looks like.
Another mom received a national RISE scholarship.
RISE is a scholarship program committed to accelerating equity for moms and women of color by providing access to upskill tech certifications while harnessing the power of community, support, and job placement—in six months or less, and at no cost to participants!
Certification programs work with our moms’ demanding schedules, as they can be completed online at their own pace. The RISE program hosts community events, and provides professional support in optimizing resumes, linkedin profiles, interview prep and more. Networking is part of the program.
Once this mom receives her certification, a job placement program will begin. This program is sponsored by The Mom Project. Please support these types of programs so that our ladies can reach their Seneca goal of NOT depending upon federal and state programs long term. Within two years, our Case Management goal working with the clients is for them to be totally self-sufficient. Expanding their skills sets is one way they blossom.
