First Fruits Friday - Thanksgiving
We recently celebrated Thanksgiving at Seneca with a few volunteer events. We had everyone who came write what they are thankful for on a little card. They said things like:
“God’s Faithfulness; my family”
“The love of my family and friends”
“My family and all of the blessings God has given me”
“My Seneca family”
One volunteer remarked: every one of these is about relationships or people.
And she was right of course! God made us that way. We were made for relationships. Made to love and be loved At the end of the day, Isn’t that what we are all grateful for?
This Thanksgiving, we are grateful for God, the Giver of Life, the one who made us, and for all of the lives that He has brought to Seneca: supporters, volunteers, clients, and their babies.
As one card said:
“I am thankful for my savior. For all the brave mamas who chose life, and the volunteers who helped them find their way”.
Psalm 100: 1-5
“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.”
