First Fruits Friday - Her Heart Was Saved
“And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.” Ezequiel 36:26
Last week one of our clients came to her appointment and she was not alone. This time, she not only brought her children, but she also brought her mother. This was just a huge moment for us, because it was her mother who had given our client the funds for her abortion appointment. That day, when we met our client on the sidewalk, it was her mother's advice and money who put her there.
As with this family, God can turn around any situation. He can change any heart. This grandmother came to Seneca that day holding her new granddaughter. She loves her. I introduced myself and welcomed her; I gave her a tour of Seneca; and I introduced the rest of the team. She thanked us for helping her daughter, and she told me that God sent us to be in her daughter’s life at a time she needed help the most, and that she will never forget.
Our client said that grandmother can’t stop holding her baby. She loves this new life. This infant has brought much joy and hope to this family.
Before leaving, the grandmother asked, “What does Seneca need?” I told her that we were out of big size diapers. She responded that she would be happy to donate some.
After they left, I realized what God did to her heart. This heart is now full of immense love for her granddaughter and it is only the beginning of a journey of love! She will see her grow, walk and talk. One day her granddaughter will say to her, “I love you.” She will attend her school events, her graduations. She will attend her wedding, and maybe…she will be able to meet her great- grandbaby!
That day when her granddaughter was saved from abortion, God saved this precious grandmother's heart too, and for that, we are most thankful and grateful.
