First Fruits Friday - Breaking Through The Curse

Once, I read: “Your purpose is not the thing you do. It is the thing that happens in others when you do what you do.” Today, I was holding a beautiful baby girl, who by the Glory of God was saved from abortion. Both baby and mother were saved, despite a generational curse of abortion trying to destroy them both in the same day. Yet God saved them both. Seneca loves them both.

God, in Deuteronomy 30:15,19 says, “See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil…I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you; that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore, choose life that both you and your descendants may live.”

This brave mother chose to obey God.  It was a very difficult decision. She was desperate, in crisis, scared and so confused. She was walking toward the steps of the abortion facility. The Devil preyed on her vulnerability and was determined to take away her baby girl, God’s gift to her. I walked with this mom during these difficult months, and God used me in so many ways to reach into her heart and help her. He touched the hearts of so many people around her and provided everything that was needed. By the time this mom felt her baby’s first kick in the womb, she recognized God’s love in this new life.

By loving God and keeping His commands, which started by choosing life, this mother and her baby girl were free from the curse of abortion and today is a day of rejoicing in heaven and earth for she is here with her, together!

When I was holding this beautiful baby I felt something I can’t even describe with words, holding a tangible promise of God in the shape of this little sweet baby, so precious and meant for greatness and I saw why the Devil wanted her to be destroyed. He tried and tried - but God’s love won!!!

Dear God, thank you for the gift of your son Jesus. You sent him to be the Way, the Truth, and the Life. By Jesus, You freed us from every sin, curse, hex, and chain when He took on the cross. You know how we feel and faithfully walk alongside us. In Christ, the power of sin and death no longer holds us. Amen.
