First Fruits Friday - Independence

“God is within her, she will not fall.” Psalm 46:5

Seneca Sisters is our mom support group that helps our clients learn new skills, discuss parenting issues and simply have fun. We meet online twice a month and have a monthly play date. The goal of our case management program is to make sure that our clients are safe, healthy and self-sustaining- ultimately independent.

In honor of Independence Day, we wanted to share some updates from a few of our clients who are independent and thriving. Although these mamas have “graduated” from our Case Management Program, we still support them emotionally and socially so that they can continue on their road to success and their faith journey. In return, they support and encourage our newer clients on their motherhood journey!

“Guess what? I got the Provost Award at Troy University for having a high GPA. Now I remember that I am smart and nothing is going to stop me from getting my degree. I really love going to school. I also got a part-time job assisting foster kids, and it is very rewarding. My own business is doing well and allows me to pay the bills. But ladies, let me tell you something. God is good. I had been searching for a new place to live and it was not going well. I then met a gentleman who listened to my story. He happened to have an apartment that will be available at the time I am moving out. It is actually a nicer place than what I have now.

I got the message "Stop trying to do God's work." I know that I was worried and stressing about finding a place. I finally had to surrender. I know that His word never comes back void. I am thankful to God for putting good energy in my life.”

“Last week I was the number one employee for customer service calls. My income has increased by $3.00 since January, and my goal is to increase it more by $2.00 by December. I'm just busy doing me. The kids are great, and are actually looking forward to going back to school. “

“I am now working for a large company and I have benefits. I like it. Family members are helping me by watching the kids until school starts. My son is getting the special services that he needs - that makes a huge difference. Mentally I feel good, peaceful and stable. I have decided to go to school part-time. I am finally going for what it is that I want to do!”

We are so proud of these mamas! They are living life in faith, and they are truly celebrating their new found independence while relying on their Heavenly Father to lead and provide for them. Thank you for supporting us in our mission to save lives and to empower women.
