First Fruits Friday - Time for a Change

Recently, two of our clients realized that their romantic relationships were toxic, and both decided to leave them. It is difficult for a person to leave someone who does help them around the house, because all moms need some help at home. Yet, these women have been growing stronger over the past year and realize now that God calls them His "Beloved", His "Pride," and He is especially fond of them.

One of the women we met on the sidewalk about a year and a half ago has realized that it is "time for a change". She is tired of low paying jobs, where she lives, etc. This week, she is applying for jobs near her family and new housing. Please pray that as she closes doors, new doors will begin to open.

Another woman, who was in foster care all of her life, was adamant about getting an abortion. She felt down trodden from all of the choices that she had made that were not in the best interest of her and her children. By working with her from the sidewalk, to the ultrasound, to Case Management we have seen her blossom. She is now working and is saving her money. What is exciting is that she received the Google Rise Program Scholarship and will begin in July. By January of 2023, this young woman will be a highly paid professional, and she will no longer have to depend on others or assistance in order for her to care for her family. She said, "What is best for me at this point? Depending on God. I'm tired of running. I have tremendous faith."

 This Mom is ready for a change.

Another young mom of three was quite upset knowing that she was pregnant. She had an abortion last year, and told us it was extremely painful and that she does not want to go through that again. Seneca will walk with this Mom who is choosing life and will surround her with support. This Mom is ready for a change.

At our Gala, the Case Manager spoke about that when our clients begin to trust us, transformation occurs and a new life with Jesus is revealed. That is why we walk with these mothers for two years. This time allows for trust to be built, self esteem to grow, healing to be received, and transformation in Christ. God is always waiting with open arms for anyone who is ready for a change in their lives and turns towards Him. We trust in Him as he moves in the lives of our clients.
